The debut reading of the On the Half-Shell literary reading series, “Wild West Wild East”, featuring innovative poets from both coasts, will take place on Monday, September 16th at 6 PM at The Gallery at LPR.

Each of the poets featured in this reading has taken poetry in new directions, and is a compelling performer. Holly Anderson is a veteran of the downtown literary scene, Mission of Burma lyricist, and poet. Nicelle Davis is a poet whose “Living Poetry Project” propagates poetry with costume, art, and other unusual means. Kate Gale is the editor of Red Hen press, poet and librettist. Kristin Prevallet is a poet, hypnotherapist, and teacher. Marjorie Tesser is an editor and poet who empowers audiences to participate in creation of poetry.

“On the Half-Shell” literary reading series is a project of MOM EGG Review, a literary journal that publishes work by and about mothers and motherhood ( and its indie publisher Half-Shell Press. The series will present innovative poets and writers with special focus on women, LGBT writers, and other underrepresented groups.
